June 19th: Wednesday’s EURO 24 Double – 4/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

As the likes of Germany look to officially book their EURO 24 knockout stage ticket on Wednesday night, we have a trio of summer-defining showdowns on the cards.

With a struggling Scotland facing what is a must-win battle in Cologne, there are plenty of intriguing betting markets available throughout Wednesday.

For those of you looking to stick on a midweek EURO 24 flutter, we have taken a glance at two of the most appealing European Championship betting tips.

17:00 Germany vs Hungary

Although Germany might have suffered a major World Cup nightmare out in Qatar 18 months ago as they came crashing out at the group stage, the Nationalelf have come roaring back under the guidance of Julian Nagelsmann. Getting their EURO 24 adventure underway with a thumping 5-1 romp against Scotland in Munich, the European giants have their sights set on mounting a genuine charge for the history books this summer.

Signing off their pre-tournament preparations with a 2-1 victory against Greece, the three-time European champions are now unbeaten in all of their previous five appearances across all competitions – their longest unbeaten run over the past two years.

Making a pair os statement during March’s international break as they secured back-to-back wins against France and the Netherlands respectively, the former Bayern Munich boss will be calling on his squad to punch their knockout stage ticket with another statement here.

Notching 11 goals on their five-match unbeaten run and boasting some of Europe’s hottest young starlets, it won’t be a surprise that this summer’s host nation are pencilled in as a landslide contender when they arrive in Stuttgart on Wednesday evening.

Although Hungary might have gained a string of plaudits from across the continent last year as they stormed their way to this summer’s European Championships, the Tricolours have an almighty battle on their hands.

Opening their EURO 24 campaign with what they had billed as a potential opportunity as they slumped to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Switzerland, Marco Rossi’s men are seeking a miracle in their bid to progress out of Group A.

While Hungary might have snatched a remarkable 1-0 victory when they last travelled to Germany in Nations League action back in September 2022, Rossi’s men face a new-look Nationalelf on Wednesday.

20:00 Scotland vs Switzerland

While Scotland might have received plenty of praise during their EURO 24 qualifying romp last year, the Tartan Army suddenly find themselves at the heart of a real struggle. Opening their European Championship adventure with a woeful 5-1 drumming at the hands of Germany, Steve Clarke’s men have a huge amount of pressure on their shoulders.

Although Scotland might have been desperate to book a maiden European knockout stage ticket this summer, the former Kilmarnock boss has seen his squad remarkably win just one of their previous 10 appearances across all competitions.

Signing off their pre-tournament preparations with a sluggish 2-2 stalemate at home against Finland, Clarke’s camp have also continued to show some extended defensive issues.

Opening 2024 with a routine 4-0 drumming at the hands of Holland, Scotland should be bracing themselves for another stern examination when they travel to Cologne on Wednesday night.

Although Switzerland might have struggled to find much stability during their EURO 24 qualifying adventure last year, the Rossocrociati certainly made a real statement of intent last weekend.

Avoiding what could have been a potential banana skin and cruising their way to an eye-catching 3-1 victory against Hungary, Murat Yakin’s men have suffered just a single defeat from any of their 15 appearances across all competitions since their World Cup exit 18 months ago.

Landing a 3-1 victory when they last met Scotland way back in March 2006, Switzerland should be smelling a real opportunity to punch their knockout stage ticket on Wednesday night.
