June 20th: Thursday’s EURO 24 Double – 8/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With England officially looking to book their knockout stage ticket this summer, we are treated to a trio of heavyweight EURO 24 showdowns throughout Thursday.

Watching Spain travel to the Veltins Arena as they meet defending champions Italy for what is a battle between two European icons, we have plenty of intriguing betting markets available.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a midweek EURO 24 flutter, we have taken a look at two of the most appealing tips.

17:00 Denmark vs England

While England might not have been at their best last weekend, the Three Lions did open up their EURO 24 adventure with a 1-0 victory against Serbia at the Veltins Arena. Pencilled in as one of the leading contenders to get their hands on a first piece of international silverware since their World Cup success way back in 1966, Gareth Southgate’s men will be looking to lay down a real marker here.

However, although England might be just 90 minutes away from officially booking their knockout stage ticket, Southgate’s men do have the feel of a squad seeking some recent stability.

Signing off their pre-tournament preparations with an infamous 1-0 defeat at home against Iceland, the Three Lions and their attacking superstars will also be hoping to find some kind of clinical edge on Wednesday evening.

Opening the New Year with another 1-0 loss at the hands of South American giants Brazil, this summer’s title contenders will certainly have a tremendous amount of pressure on their shoulders when they return to Group C action.

Although Denmark might have signed off their EURO 24 qualifying adventure by winning five of their final six appearances, the Reds missed out on what they had billed as a golden opportunity over the weekend.

Eventually forced to settle for what was a disappointing 1-1 stalemate against Slovenia in their Group C opener, Kasper Hjulmand’s men could have a real battle on their hands in the race to clinching a knockout stage spot.

Suffering major European heartbreak when they last met the Three Lions at Wembley three years ago as they fell to a 2-1 semi-final defeat against England, Denmark will be more than aware that they face another real challenge on Wednesday evening.

20:00 Spain vs Italy

Although Spain might have suffered major World Cup frustration out in Qatar 18 months ago as they crashed out at the Round of 16 stage, La Roja have come roaring back in a sensational fashion. Really appearing to be enjoying life under Luis de la Fuente, some have even tipped the European icons as a potential dark horse contender this summer.

Opening their EURO 24 adventure with a major statement last weekend as they claimed a 3-0 romp against World Cup bronze medalists Croatia, Spain find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high.

Signing off their pre-tournament preparations with a thumping 5-1 victory against Northern Ireland, Spain have now won their previous three appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 13-1.

Likewise, really finding a major clinical edge in the final third and with a squad that is glittering with some of Europe’s hottest young prospects, La Roja have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous 13 consecutive outings.

Managing to avoid what would have been an infamous European collapse last weekend as they came from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory against Albania, Italy will know that they must produce a far more polished performance here.

Making real history at the delayed EURO 20 tournament as they got their hands on a second European crown at Wembley, the defending champions have continued on their own impressive flurry over the past 12 months.

However, hit with a 2-1 loss when they met Spain last summer while in Nations League action, it should be noted that they have managed to muster just a pair of wins from any of their previous 11 showdowns against La Roja – a run that stems back to August 2011.
