June 30th: Friday’s Daily Double – 4/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

While it might be the likes of Ireland’s elite that will steal most of Friday’s headlines, we do have a string of eye-catching affairs on our hands.

Ahead of a stacked Friday schedule from across the footballing globe, we have taken a glance at two contests that can offer a great return for your Friday flutter.

19:30 Arab Contractors vs El Dakhleya

Marking their return from the international break with a gritty 1-0 victory away at Ceramica Cleopatra last week, the Arab Contractors have continued on what has been a hugely impressive Premier League campaign in 2023. Although Friday’s hosts might have long since accepted that they won’t be able to mount a famous AFC Champions League charge, the Mountain Wolves have breezed their way to a top-half finish.

Punching their Egypt Cup quarter-final ticket last time out, Shawky Gharib’s men are remarkably unbeaten in each of their last nine domestic appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to April 9th.

With their extended purple patch underlined by a 2-0 victory against Haras El Hodood last month, Arab Contractors should also be excited by their continued defensive displays.

In fact, along with keeping a clean sheet in four of their previous six showdowns against Premier Division opposition, it should also be noted that Gharib’s squad have come away unscathed in five of their last seven appearances on home soil.

Although El Dakhleya might have made their Premier League return this season, Friday’s guests are seeking a minor miracle in their bid to avoid an immediate second-tier return.

Last seen having to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Haras El Hodood prior to the international break, the Cairo-based outfit are without a win from any of their previous six showdowns within 90 minutes.

Likewise, hit with a 2-1 loss when they welcomed the Contractors to town for their last meeting on January 22nd, it should also be noted that Reda Shehata’s men have remarkably failed to win any of their last eight straight meetings – a run that stems all the way back to October 2015.

19:45 St. Patrick’s Athletic vs UC Dublin

While St. Patrick’s might have been disappointed after their late collapse away at Dundalk earlier in the week, Jon Daly’s men should still find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Sat in pole position to claim a lucrative European ticket this season and holding a three-point buffer over the chasing pack, there is no doubt that the Saints will be smelling the chance to make an immediate return to winning ways here.

Marking their return from the international break with an eye-catching 1-0 victory at home against Shelbourne, Friday’s hosts have suffered just a single defeat from any of their last seven domestic appearances across all competitions – a run that stems back to May 15th.

Rightfully tipped as a runaway contender here, Daly should also be excited by his side’s continued success at Richmond Park.

On a run that is highlighted by a 4-1 romp against Derry City earlier in the month, St. Patrick’s have won each of their last four Premier Division showdowns in front of their own supporters by an aggregate score of 10-2.

With attacking talisman Christopher Forrester already notching 10 Premier Division strikes this season, the Saints should be relishing UC Dublin’s arrival at Richmond Park this weekend.

While Friday’s guests might have claimed a much-welcomed 2-1 victory against Sligo Rovers last weekend, the Students are sat rock-bottom of the top-flight standings are they’re free-falling towards a First Division return in 2023.

Only mustering a remarkable nine points from their 21 Premier Division appearances this season, Andrew Myler’s men have also gained a reputation for their issues on the road.

In fact, UC Dublin have lost each of their last 10 straight showdowns away from the UCD Bowl – a run that stems all the way back to February 17th.
