Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has identified Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, according to Mundo Deportivo. The report in the Spanish news outlet has claimed that Klopp is worried that Salah will leave at the end of the season and wants to sign Frenchman Dembele if he leaves.
Salah is one of the best players in the world and is a key figure at Liverpool. The Egypt international forward has been a big figure in the Reds winning the Premier League and the Champions League in recent seasons. However, the 29-year-old is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the 2022-23 season, and no new deal is in place.
Dembele is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season, and Liverpool could be able to sign him on a fee transfer in the summer of 2022. The Frenchman is a revived figure at Camp Nou now and is playing well for Xavi’s team. Dembele has scored one goal and provided seven assists in seven La Liga starts so far this season.
