Juventus are hoping to get a discount on Alberto Aquilani when they attempt to make his loan deal permanent.
The Italy international is currently on loan at Juventus from Liverpool with the Old lady desperate to keep hold of him.
La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Juve don’t want to pay more than €12 million for Aquilani, who is earning around €3 million per season.
The player himself is eager to stay at Juventus, which could help the Bianconeri close the deal before his loan deal ends next summer.
Juventus transfer guru Beppe Marotta plans to discuss the transfer with Liverpool director of football strategy Damien Comolli in the next few weeks.
Alberto Aquilani has managed to kick-start his career at Juventus, so all three sides could profit from him staying at Olimpico.
Julio Cesar pledges his future to Inter
Inter keeper Julio Cesar says he plans to remain at the club until his contract expires in 2014.
The 31-year-old Brazilian was linked with a move to Manchester United following speculations that Emiliano Viviano is lined up as his replacement.
Asked whether he plans to stay at Inter until his contract expires in 2014, Cesar replied:
“Exactly, I don’t see why I should change. For me Viviano’s arrival wouldn’t change anything.”
“United? I never heard anyone, and from what I know, neither have Inter,” Julio Cesar added.
“If the club has something to tell me in future then I will sit down with president Massimo Moratti and speak with him.”
Julio Cesar is definitely one of the best shot-stoppers in the world at the moment and if he wants to stay at Inter, Moratti would be mad to sell him.
Charlie Davis set to return to MLS
MLS side DC united have reached an agreement with Sochaux to loan striker Charlie Davis, provided he can prove his fitness.
DC United revealed on their website that a week-long evaluation period “will include training and game time with the first team and a full medical evaluation by team doctors in D.C.”
“Details of a 12-month loan have already been negotiated, but nothing will be official until D.C. United is satisfied he is physically capable of playing at the level required to be successful in MLS.”
The player himself was very excited to return to MLS.
“I’m very excited to meet up with DC United in Florida tomorrow!!” Davies said on Twitter. “Looking forward to it & can’t wait!!”
The USA international has only recently returned into action after the lengthy absence caused by the car accident in which he suffered life-threatening injuries and the move to DC United could help get his career back on track.
