(GSM) – Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has called for patience despite the club’s ambitious summer spendings.
Juve signed ten new players during the last transfer window in a comprehensive overhaul, which also saw the likes of Diego and David Trezeguet leave.
“We have realised the guide lines,” Marotta said. “It was a difficult transfer market for everybody. The cash in circulation revealed itself to be scarce.
“We have used the loan-with-an-option-to-buy formula a lot, but so did everyone a little.
“I ask the fans for a little patience, but I can assure you that the club is strong. It has a notable sense of belonging and continuity, represented by the arrival of Andrea Agnelli and there are good prospects because the team is strong.”
Looking ahead to this weekend’s match against his former employer Sampdoria, Marotta said: “I spent eight unforgettable years in Genoa.
“I arrived there with a team that risked going down to Serie C and then ended up in the Champions League.
“Of course, I will be emotional,” he concluded.
