Igor Tudor conceded Juventus “lacked determination and desire” during their 1-0 defeat by Parma on Wednesday.
The Bianconeri missed the chance to leapfrog Bologna and regain fourth place in Serie A, after Mateo Pellegrino’s first-half header settled the contest at Stadio Ennio Tardini.
While Juve remain in fifth place – the last Champions League qualifying spot in the Italian top flight – Lazio applied the pressure by moving level on points following a 2-0 victory over Genoa.
Despite registering 37 crosses to Parma’s 11, and 39 touches in the opposition box, Tudor’s side recorded just two shots on target – the first in the 65th minute – from 16 attempts.
And the head coach, who replaced Thiago Motta last month, knew his players fell short of expectations against.their 16th-place opponents.
“We lacked a bit of everything,” he said. “We pushed a lot in the second half, but we were not dangerous enough.
“We lacked determination and desire. Too many times, we were just happy to participate. We must grow, be wicked and have the desire to win and fight.
