Juve lead chase for Bayern starlet
Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport can reveal that Juventus are in pole position to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Gianluca Gaudino.
The 17-year-old was surprisingly given a chance to shine by boss Pep Guardiola in the early exchanges, making three first team appearances for the Bavarians.
And with his current deal due to expire in June 2015, a number of Europe’s top sides have joined the race for his services.
However, Tuttosport has suggested that it is Juventus that have the upper hand seeing as how they were the only side to establish a contact with the youngster’s agents before he was promoted to the first team set up.
Things have changed with Gaudino impressing on the big stage, but the Bianconeri still seem to be in good position to recruit the talented footballer.
Having won their first three league fixtures this term, Juventus can be backed at 1/8 to defeat Cesena in Turin this evening.
Arsenal in fresh assault on Rabiot
Arsenal are considering a new bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to the Daily Mail.
It is no secret the Gunners are keen on the 19-year-old footballer, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.
And with Italian giants Roma and Juventus also in the mix, the Gunners are eager to open talks with the player’s agents as soon as possible.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will attempt to strike a deal in the January transfer window or agree a Bosman move at the end of the season, but they will first have to beat off competition from said sides.
Rabiot does not seem to be interested in extending his current contract with the Saints as he is frustrated by the lack of first team opportunities.
The youngster hasn’t made a single appearance for the club this season and chances are he will be leaving as early as January.
Ajax eager to keep hold of Schone
Voetbal International understands that Ajax chiefs are desperate to persuade star player Lasse Schone into signing a new contract at Amsterdam ArenA.
The 28-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and he is in no rush to sign a new deal as he wants to explore his options.
But, with AC Milan and few more top clubs showing interest, Ajax need to act quickly and try to tie down Schone to a new long-term contract.
The Denmark international made an instant impact at Amsterdam ArenA having joined from NEC Nijmegen, going on to score 18 goals in 66 Eredivisie appearances.
Schone recently scored a wonder goal from a free kick in the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, while coming close to netting another one later in the game.
The highly rated footballer has so far earned mere 20 Denmark caps, but he seems to have finally nailed down a regular starting berth.
