Juventus have received a blow ahead of their showdown with Roma on Sunday with captain Alessandro Del Piero ruled out for a fortnight.
The 36-year-old striker strained an adductor muscle in his left thigh at training on Thursday and a scan confirmed he would need around 15 days to overcome the injury.
Friday’s news comes as a big blow to Luigi Delneri’s side, who are already without centre-back Giorgio Chiellini for a month with a thigh injury.
Juventus are in seventh place on the Serie A table, five points behind Roma heading into their clash at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday and in desperate need of three points if they are to keep their push for a Europa League berth alive.
