Juventus are weighing up an off-season bid for Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles, according to a report.
Fabio Paratici, sporting director of the Italian giants, was spotted at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday to watch Chelsea’s 2-1 Champions League quarter-final victory against Benfica according to Tuttosport.
It is believed that Paratici’s main task was to observe Meireles, who came on as a late substitute and scored the winning goal which confirmed the Blues’ progression to the semi-finals of the competition.
Juventus are keen to add to their midfield options in the summer transfer window, with Lazio’s Hernanes understood to be their top transfer target.
However, the Stadio Olimpico outfit are holding out on their asking price of 30 million euros, which has forced Juventus to look for alternatives.
Meireles signed for Chelsea in the off-season for an undisclosed fee at the request of former manager Andre Villas-Boas, but with the Portuguese coach having been sacked last month, the Blues may part company with the 29-year-old midfielder, who is contracted until 2015.
