Juventus are set to start negotiations with Claudio Marchisio over a new contract even though the current one does not expire before 2014.
The midfielder caused a great deal of controversy by saying he was pessimistic about the renewal since he had heard nothing from the club.
The club then released a statement claiming that there was no need for rash decisions since his contract ran until 2014.
Nevertheless, it seems that Juve officials have changed their minds, with sporting director Beppe Marotta setting up a meeting with the player’s representative Carlo Pallavicino.
Juventus will thus offer Marchisio an improved contract that should tie him up to the club until 2015.
