Juve to reshape defence

According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus have started a search to replace Andrea Barzagli and Medhi Benatia.

Apparently, the two defenders’ hearts are set on leaving the Old Lady in January, which would leave the club and coach Massimiliano Allegri short on options in the back line. However, the Italian champions have already instigated countermeasures for any possible contingency and are currently considering moves for Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt, AS Roma’s Kostas Manolas and Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković.

De Ligt has mostly been linked with Barcelona recently, but other clubs across Europe are also very interested in the talented 19-year-old Dutch international. Oranje captain Virgil van Dijk recently revealed his belief the youngster would be a welcome addition at his club Liverpool, while Manchester United and Arsenal have also been mentioned.

Milenković, 21, has also recently become somewhat of a hot property as his talents keep attracting interests from top clubs, while Manolas would at the age of 27 certainly represent the most experienced option of the three. However, would also likely the most expensive one.
