Teun Koopmeiners’ late goal sealed a 2-0 victory for Juventus over Hellas Verona, sending Thiago Motta’s team into fourth in Serie A.
Koopmeiners added gloss to Monday’s win in the final minute of normal time when he drilled home from a tight angle.
Verona, who are four points clear of the relegation places, thought they had taken the lead late in the first half, though Tomas Suslov had a goal disallowed for offside.
But with Verona having frustrated Juve, who had 12 shots in the first half, Khephren Thuram finally broke the visitors’ resolve in Turin in the 72nd minute.
He found a way past the impressive Lorenzo Montipo with a first-time finish from Andrea Cambiaso’s pass, and Koopmeiners was then on hand to seal the victory.
Juve are now six points behind Serie A leaders Inter, but two above fifth-place Lazio in the race for Champions League qualification.

Data Debrief: Keeping it clean
Juve have now kept 14 clean sheets in Serie A this season, more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues.
And this was a win once again built on solid foundations, with Verona only creating chances worth 0.28 expected goals, while Juve accumulated 1.85 xG.
Juve have now won three consecutive league games without conceding. It is the first time they have done that in a single Serie A campaign since they went on a run of four such wins between October and November 2023.
