Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has moved to reject speculations linking Spanish striker Fernando Llorente with a January exit.
The Spain international had a very slow start to his career in Turin following a free transfer move from Athletic Bilbao, which led to speculations linking him with a host of Europe’s top clubs.
However, Llorente has since nailed down a regular starting berth and has been constantly raising his form of late.
With that in mind, it is hardly surprising Juventus have no plans to cash in on the experienced forward any time soon.
“But the player is not for sale,” general manager Beppe Marotta explained to Tuttosport. “He’s never been available.
“He will stay here with us. There is great faith in the boy and he is reaching his peak condition. We’re very happy with him ad his progress.”
Fernando Llorente may have netted just once in eight Serie A appearances, but he has managed to score in both Champions League matches against Real Madrid.
With the Spaniard likely to start the derby clash against Napoli on Sunday, he looks a good bet at 3/2 to score at any time.
