Liverpool have officially agreed to loan midfielder Alberto Aquilani for a year to Italian giants Juventus. The two teams, both of whom are competing in the Europa League this season, have reached an agreement and Aquilani will join Juventus as soon as he passes his medical.
Aquilani joined Liverpool from AS Roma for £20m last summer as a supposed replacement for Xabi Alonso, but never quite managed to fill the void left by the Spaniard’s departure.
Aquilani did not feature in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Trabzonspor in the Europa League on Thursday, meaning that he could potentially play other games in the Europa League for Juve.
This is the second deal between Juve and Liverpool in the current month after the former sold Christian Poulsen to the latter.
