Italian champions Juventus have agreed a deal to sign Atalanta defender Mattia Caldara, La Gazzetta dello Sport can reveal.
The Bianconeri will pay €15 million up front, while the fee could rise to over €20 million depending on various bonuses.
Caldara and his representatives have also found an understanding with Juventus, although it is important to note that the centre-back will be allowed to finish the season in Bergamo before he joins his new teammates.
With Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli not getting any younger, the Bianconeri hope that Daniele Rugani and Mattia Caldara will form the centre-back pairing in years to come.
The 22-year-old needed less than six months in the top flight to secure a big club move as he has only made 12 Serie A appearances in his career, albeit bagging three goals in the process.
Loan spells with Trapani and Cesena clearly did the youngster a lot of good and helped him prepare for tough challenges in the top flight.
