Juventus agree to sign Italian World Cup winner

Juventus have reached an agreement to sign Wolfsburg defender Andrea Barzagli, according to reports from Italy.

The Bianconeri were looking for a defender who could act as a cover for Chiellini and Bonucci, and it seems they have found their man.

Juventus officials Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici have reached an agreement with Barzagli yesterday, with the former Italy international set to join the Bianconeri when his contract expires in June.

The 29-year-old Barzagli had earlier expressed his desire to return to Italy following a three-year stint at Wolfsburg.

The World Cup winner also had offers from Schalke and Borussia Dortmund but he opted to be reunited with Luigi del Neri, who coached him at Palermo.
