Juventus and Inter vying for Kolarov; United line up James Rodriguez to replace Nani

Juventus and Inter vying for Kolarov

Italian giants Juventus and Inter are fighting for the signature of Manchester City full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The Serbian international is unhappy at playing second fiddle to Gael Clichy at Etihad Stadium and he is pondering his future.

Kolarov admitted last week that he could decide to leave Manchester City in the summer transfer window and Sky Sport Italia claims Juventus and Inter are battling for the highly rated defender.

The two clubs have been alerted of the player’s potential during his time at Lazio, but eventually lost the battle with Manchester City.

The Italian giants have now reignited their interest in the defender and they are now hoping to sign him on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

The problem is that the Citizens are not interested in loaning their high-profile players, although they might be willing to do business if one of the clubs offer to buy him outright.

Kolarov has featured in just 12 Premier League games last season, scoring 2 goals in the process, while making 8 appearances in European competitions for the Citizens.

United line up James Rodriguez to replace Nani

Manchester United are weighing up move for Porto forward James Rodriguez, according to A Bola.

With star player Nani heavily linked with a move to Italian Serie A, the Red Devils are searching for a new winger.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola claims that Sir Alex Ferguson sees Porto’s James Rodriguez as a perfect replacement for the Portuguese international.

The Colombian has really exploded this season at Dragao, scoring 13 goals in 26 games for the Portuguese giants.

The 20-year-old has developed a great wing partnership with Hulk, but it looks as though one of the two players will leave Porto this summer.

Seeing that there are still no clubs willing to match Porto’s valuation of the Brazilian, the Portuguese club could decide to cash in on Rodriguez instead.

James Rodriguez has four years left on his deal with the Dragons and his release clause stands at €45 million, meaning he won’t come cheap should United decide to make a move.

Hoffenheim put Babel and Braafheid on sale

Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have revealed that Dutch internationals Ryan Babel and Edson Braafheid will be allowed to leave the club this summer.

Hoffenheim boss Markus Babel is preparing a genuine summer clear out and it appears that the two Dutch players will be the first ones to leave.

The talented coach is far from happy with their recent showings and has said in no uncertain terms he wants them to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

“I told them that we are ready to talk if they have other options,” Babel was quoted as saying in Bild. “So far I have heard nothing.”

Ryan Babel joined Hoffenheim in a €7 million deal from Liverpool in January 2011, but has since scored just 5 goals in 46 Bundesliga games.

Edson Braafheid, on the other hand, arrived at the same time on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, but he, too, utterly failed to prove his worth at Rhein Neckar Arena.
