According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus and AC Milan are both set to join Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the services of Viktor Gyokeres, who is now practically certain to leave Sporting Lisbon next summer.
Gyokeres’s numbers are extremely impressive this season – the Swedish striker of Hungarian origin has so far scored 20 goals in just 16 appearances across all competition, with four assists to his name to boot.
Juventus and Milan have both had contact with Gyokeres’s representatives, but his reported €100 million release clause has proven an insurmountable obstacle so far. However, come the end of the season, the 26-year-old will have only a year remaining on his contract, and Sporting will be forced to lower their demands if they wish to avoid the risk losing him for free in 2026.
There have been claims that Ruben Amorim, the Sporting coach set to take over at Manchester United, would try and take Gyokeres to Old Trafford in January, but Amorim swiftly denied them.
