Odds: 23/10 @ Bet365

Europe’s biggest club competition returns this week with even more thrills, spills and goals to come. Every side still in the competition will know that there is a chance they can win the whole trophy, with the pressure of expectation weighing heavily on the favourites. With this in mind, Juventus host Tottenham on Tuesday.

Juventus were in inconsistent form in their Champions League group as they made it through as runners-up. After six games they won three, lost once and drew twice while managing to score seven goals and concede five. In their last five they went unbeaten, winning three games and drawing twice which saw them onto 11 points. The Italians were able to finish four points clear of third-placed Sporting Lisbon, but they were the same amount shy of group winners Barcelona, with the Spanish side controlling the group right from the start.

Tottenham, by comparison, were awesome. After six games they won five and drew just once, scoring 15 goals and conceding four times. In their last five games they won four and drew once which saw them onto 16 points. Spurs were actually able to finish three points clear of reigning European champions Real Madrid, while they ended 14 points above Borussia Dortmund. Mauricio Pochettino and his men may feel that momentum is on their side and a strong performance in the first-leg would give them huge confidence. With both sides very good defensively though, we are backing a draw in this one.
