Juventus and Tottenham plotting Karim Benzema switch

French forward Karim Benzema is said to be looking towards the exit door at Santiago Bernabeu.

The 30-year-old striker is reportedly willing to accept a pay cut to realize a move away from Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Benzema is no longer considered the first-choice solution upfront and Julen Lopetegui did not include him in the starting line-up in Los Blancos’ last two matches in the league.

He still appeared in all La Liga matches this season – all nine – and scored four goals along the way.

Real Madrid are, however, enduring a difficult time this season and Karim Benzema is only the last in line of first-team stars to be considering his position at the club.

Spanish media outlet Don Balon reports that Juventus and Tottenham are keeping a close tab on Karim Benzema, ready to offer him an escape route at the end of the season.

The four-time Champions League winner’s current contract with Real Madrid expires in 2021.
