Juventus back in for Savic
Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has learned that Juventus have rekindled their interest in Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic.
While the Bianconeri are on the lookout for an attacking midfielder, they are simultaneously working on adding a quality central defender to their ranks.
According to the latest reports, Juventus appear set to launch a fresh assault on Fiorentina’s Stefan Savic.
Given that his current deal is due to expire in June 2016, Viola are probably ready to listen to offers for the Montenegro international, although it is believed they are holding out for more than €10 million.
Stefan Savic has just been handed a four-match suspension by the Italian FA, which could speed up his exit from Artemio Franchi.
The 24-year-old has spent last two and a half years at Artemuo Franchi, making 74 league appearances and scoring 4 goals.
Aston Vila to sign Carles Gil
Spanish daily newspaper Marca has learned that Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of Valencia midfielder Carles Gil.
The Villans have agreed to pay €4.5 million for the 22-year-old footballer, while another €2 million will depend on performance related bonuses.
Carles Gil has said goodbye to his teammates at Mestalla earlier this morning before flying to Birmingham to undergo a medical ahead of signing a long-term deal with Aston Villa.
The youngster came through the youth ranks at Valencia and enjoyed two very successful seasons on loan at Elche after playing for the reserves.
He has since returned to Mestalla and made a total of eight La Liga appearances this term, starting two of those games.
But, with competition for places fierce at Valencia, he has decided to accept an offer from Aston Villa and test his skills in English Premier League.
Tabanou linked with Serie A move
Clubs from Italian Serie A are casting admiring glances towards Saint Etienne full-back Franck Tabanou, L’Equipe can reveal.
The talented footballer joined les Verts from Toulouse in July 2013 as one of league’s hottest prospects and he in turn continued the rich vein of form.
Despite being used as a left-sided defender at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Tabanou has been putting in some strong performances in French Ligue 1 that have not gone unnoticed.
According to L’Equipe, several Serie A side are keeping close tabs on the former France Under-21 international, while an unnamed club from Eastern Europe are expected to submit an official offer in the coming weeks.
Tabanou, who started his career as a left winger, has made a total of 52 league appearances for Saint Etienne, scoring 3 goals.
His side has climbed to third in the league standings by defeating Reims on the road and are now 8/5 to see off Rennes as well.
