Rafa Benitez likes to make wholesome changes to the squad in the transfer windows and this summer he will make no exception. Xabi Alonso could well leave Liverpool to join Italian giant Juventus who are still looking to rebuild their squad following the embarrassment of the Calciopoli.
According to reports in Italy, Juventus would need to make an offer of £14 million – three million more than they are currently offering – in order to tempt Liverpool to let go of their playmaker.
But another uncertainty with regards to the deal seems to be Alonso’s willingness to leave his current club as his contract runs until 2012 and he seems to have a very good relationship with manager Rafa Benitez.
Should the deal go through, it will be the second midfielder that Juventus will have signed from Anfield this year after Sissoko who his injury-plagued Liverpool career in January and joined Claudio Ranieri’s team.
