Juventus challenge Milan for Fernando

Juventus have joined the chase for FC Porto star Fernando, according to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri had their scouts present at weekend’s Primeira Liga derby between Benfica and FC Porto, and they were reportedly monitoring the performances of three players.

Juventus scouts made a check on long-term targets Nicolas Otamendi and Danilo, but they were also keeping close tabs on midfielder Fernando.

AC Milan recently admitted their interest in the Brazilian, but it appears they now face competition from the Old Lady.

With the player’s deal at Estadio do Dragao expiring in June, Juventus hope to sign the midfielder on a pre-contract that would see him move to Turin on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Bianconeri recorded 11 straight victories in Serie A to open up a eight-point lead at the top of the standings, and they are priced at 1/6 to extend the winning run against in-form Sampdoria.
