Italian champions Juventus are hot on the trail of Empoli hotshot Riccardo Saponara, Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested.
The Bianconeri failed in their quest to sign another attacking midfielder in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but they aim to make things right in the winter.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are exploring the possibility of recruiting Riccardo Saponara from Empoli.
The Bianconeri have been impressed with the 23-year-old’s performances this season, but they could face stiff competition for the player’s signature from league rivals Napoli.
Namely, the Azzurri were on the verge of signing Saponara in the summer, but ultimately failed to agree on the transfer fee.
Napoli will almost certainly return for the former Italy Under-21 star in January, and they could be involved in a real bidding war with Juventus.
Saponara will be in the starting line-up when Empoli host Genoa tomorrow afternoon, where home win pays 7/5.
