Juventus close in on Firmino

According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are closing in on the signing of Roberto Firmino.

The deal has been in the works for a while now with the belief being that they’re close to completing a £19 million deal for the veteran. That could also go on to impact potential moves for Timo Werner and Anthony Martial, both of whom Juve were invested in possibly signing.

Firmino has spent many years establishing himself as a solid presence in Liverpool’s first team but in recent times, he’s fallen down the pecking order ever so slightly.

The Brazilian knows that he needs to try and make the most of the next few years of his career, and a switch to Juve could offer him the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Liverpool, meanwhile, must be pretty satisfied with the options they’ve got up top if they’re willing to let Mane and Firmino go in the same summer window.
