Liverpool midfielder Emre Can was heavily linked with a move away from Anfield during the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old was the subject of intense interest from Serie A champions Juventus who did attempt to sign the Germany international.
Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed that Bianconeri made an approach towards the Liverpool holding midfielder telling Premium Sport that the Italian champions are unlikely to return for Can during winter.
“We made an offer for him in the summer but the Reds didn’t sell him so I don’t think they’ll change their mind in the middle of the season.”, Marotta told Premium Sport.
Emre Can is in his final year of the Liverpool contract and is not getting any closer to signing an extension to his current deal with the Reds.
Juventus could return for the Liverpool midfielder at the end of the season when Emre Can would be allowed to move to Turin on a free transfer.
Liverpool have a direct replacement for Can already wrapped up in the face of Nabi Keita, an RB Leipzig midfielder whose Liverpool contract becomes effective in the summer of 2018.
