Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has confirmed that he is scheduled to meet with Mario Mandzukic to discuss the striker’s future, according to Mirror.
Having been the subject of a failed move to Qatar at the end of the summer transfer window, the 33-year-old still hasn’t made a competitive appearance under Maurizio Sarri as the head coach, and he’s been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in January. United are apparently optimistic about getting the deal done in the winter for £9 million.
Paratici is therefore set to talk to Mandzukic, who has 44 goals from 162 games under his belt since arriving to Turin from Atletico Madrid, about a potential departure in January. Paratici believes the former Croatia international is still a great player, and he stressed the situation needs to be resolved calmly, which indicates that Mandzukic isn’t happy about how things stand at the moment.
United parted ways with Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku during the summer, with the two forwards moving to Inter on a temporary and permanent basis, respectively, so Mandzukic moving to Old Trafford in January doesn’t seem too unlikely at the moment.
