Juventus have made contact with Chelsea over a potential transfer of Willian in January, according to Mirror.
The 31-year-old’s contract with the London club expires at the end of the season and with the negotiations over a new one not progressing much despite the winger’s wish to stay, Chelsea could face losing his services for free as he will be at liberty to talk to clubs outside England from January 1st to discuss a summer move. In order to avoid that possibility, their hand may be forced towards accepting a reasonable offer mid-season.
Maurizio Sarri, who worked with Willian at Chelsea and is now in charge of the team at Juventus, believes the Brazilian would be of big help to the Old Lady as they face a very serious challenge from Inter Milan, run by Antonio Conte, another ex-Chelsea boss, for the Serie A title this time. On the other hand, Willian is happy at Stamford Bridge for the moment and he likes working with Frank Lampard.
