Juventus have denied being interested in the services of Ivan Rakitic of Barcelona.
The Croatian midfielder has been the subject of much speculation which he partly fueled himself when he publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of game time at the Camp Nou earlier this season. He has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, and recently Juventus too.
However, the Serie A champions aren’t interested in bringing the 31-year-old to the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Speaking to ESPN, Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici expressed the club’s stance that their team is quite good enough as it is, and there is no need for significant reinforcements in this particular moment in time. According to him, the Old Lady are strong in every position on the pitch and they don’t need to bring in Rakitic, though he admitted him to be a great player.
As for Rakitic himself, he has recently broken back into head coach Ernesto Valverde’s calculations, and he said that if he is to play, then there is no better place for him than Barcelona.
