Tuttosport understands that Italian champions Juventus are weighing up January bid for Schalke starlet Leon Goretzka.
The Bianconeri are short of options in the middle of the park after selling Paul Pogba, and seeing that Mario Lemina and Kwadwo Asamoah will take part at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, they plan to recruit a central midfielder in the January window.
Juventus have so far been looking at a number of high-profile footballers, but latest reports suggest they could make a move on Leon Goretzka.
The 21-year-old has come a long way since joining the Miners from Bochum three years ago and he is now considered a first team regular.
Goretzka started eight Bundesliga fixtures this term, scoring one goal in the process, and he is valued at €15 million.
Juventus are also keeping close tabs on Mahmoud Dahoud, who has been the subject of offer from Borussia Dortmund.
