Serie A holders Juventus are showing interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, reports La Stampa.
After winning their third successive league title, the Bianconeri aim to prove their worth in Europe’s elite competition as well and have already drawn up a list of potential reinforcements.
And while long-term targets Alexis Sanchez and Daryl Janmaat are still in the mix, Sporting’s William Carvalho is a new name on their wish list.
The Bianconeri officials have been impressed by the Portugal international and they aim to try and lure him to Turin at the earliest opportunity.
The problem is Sporting are not looking to sell, with the player’s release clause standing at staggering €45 million.
William Carvalho, 22, has made a total of 28 league appearances for the Lions this term and scored 4 goals.
He is widely tipped to make Paulo Bento’s 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup finals, where Portugal are 33/1 to lift the trophy.
