Italian champions Juventus believe that talented defender Pol Lirola will quickly develop into an important member of the squad in Turin, according to Tuttosport.
The 19-year-old rejected the opportunity to join Barcelona in favour of signing for the Bianconeri after graduating from the Espanyol academy and he has since shown a great deal of promise.
After impressing playing for the club’s youth sides, Lirola made several appearances for the senior team in pre-season before he was loaned to Sassuolo.
The former winger, who now operates as a right-back, fared pretty well in the two starts for the Neroverdi and Juventus officials are already convinced he is good enough to command a place in the squad for the 2017/2018 season.
With Stephan Lichtsteiner almost certain to leave in the January window, Lirola could be challenging Dani Alves for a starting berth, and chances are that first team experience earned at Sassuolo will have made him better prepared for what awaits him next term.
