Spanish media outlet El Desmarque reports that Serie A champions Juventus are laying the ground for a summer transfer move for Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.
The Belgium international has endured a difficult time in Madrid this season, having started only seven La Liga games for Los Colchineros and is said to be unhappy with his status in Diego Simeone’s side.
With Atletico Madrid bringing in Vitolo during the January market, Carrasco could see his already limited playing time gets even more restricted and Juventus are said to have stepped in to offer him a lifeline.
Bianconeri’s initial approach for the 24-year-old were rebuffed with Atletico Madrid refusing to sell, but the Spanish media reports that the Italians have now been given encouragement in their pursuit of a player who is under a €100 million release clause.
With Carrasco falling out of Diego Simeone’s favour, however, the winger is expected to be allowed to leave for a significantly lower transfer fee.
