Serie A champions Juventus are ready to make a new assault on Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya, Tuttosport has suggested.
The Bianconeri plan to make the Spaniard their first signing of the January transfer window and are simultaneously negotiating with the defender’s employers and his representatives.
According to Tuttosport, Montoya has all but agreed a four-year deal with the Old Lady, but the two clubs have yet to find an agreement.
While Juventus hope to sign their target on a six-month loan with an option to buy, Barcelona would prefer an outright transfer and are referring the Bianconeri to the €20 million release clause.
But, even though the two sides are miles apart at the moment, it is believed they could strike up a deal during the January window.
Martin Montoya, 23, has shown plenty of potential over the last couple of years, but he has struggled for playing time since Luis Enrique took over.
