Tuttosport understands that Italian champions Juventus are stepping up their efforts to sign French midfielder Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint-Germain.
As Paul Pogba is set to complete a mega money move to Manchester United, the Bianconeri are working hard on finding him a replacement.
And it appears that Juventus have chosen Blaise Matuidi, Pogba’s midfield partner from the France national team, as their primary target.
The Bianconeri have been impressed with the player’s performances for club and country, but they are not prepared to offer more than €20 million for his services, according to reports.
Meanwhile, PSG are not even ready to consider offers below the €30 million mark, while Matuidi’s wage demands could also prove an obstacle to any deal.
Namely, the 29-year-old is earning around €5.5 million per campaign at Parc des Princes, which is more than Juventus are willing to pay, although the club could decide to increase their wage budget after receiving €120 million through the sale of Paul Pogba.
