Juventus in negotiations to sign Real Madrid duo; Ashley Young drops biggest quit hint yet

Juventus in negotiations to sign Real Madrid duo

Juventus have opened negotiations with Real Madrid regarding their interest in Ezequiel Garay and Lassana Diarra.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta and technical secretary Fabio Paratici have met with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and executive director Jose Angel Sanchez to discuss the possibility of signing Karim Benzema, Ezequiel Garay and Lassana Diarra.

The Old Lady officials were immediately told that Karim Benzema was not for sale, but Real are willing to negotiate the transfers of the other two players.

Los Blancos want €10 million for Garay and €18 million for Diarra, but, at least for the time being, Juventus are not prepared to meet their valuation.

It is therefore that the Italians were presented with a list of players that could be included into the deal so as to lower the asking price.

Real Madrid chiefs have shown interest in Giorgio Chiellini, Felipe Melo and Amauri, meaning that one or two of the players from the list could be included into the possible transfer.

While Juventus see Giorgio Chiellini as a key member of the side, the Bianconeri are prepared to sell Felipe Melo and Amauri, so it looks as though they will be in good position when the negotiations continue.

Lassana Diarra is expected to lose his place in the side when Nuri Sahin arrives to Santiago Bernabeu and he is widely looking to leave the club, although Juventus will face a stiff competition from Manchester United and Arsenal.

Ezequiel Garay is nothing more than a fringe player at the Bernabeu and it is believed that he would welcome a move to Turin.

Ashley Young drops biggest quit hint yet

Aston Villa winger Ashley Young has hinted that he could leave the club in order to fight for honours.

Aston Villa number two Gary McAllister has earlier suggested that the prospect of playing Champions League football could see Young leave Villa Park.

The England international has a one year left on his contract and he has decided to shelve any contract talks for after the season ends.

That has sparked speculations that he will leave Villa Park in the summer, with Manchester United hot favourites to win the race for his signature.

While the 25-year-old never really said that he wanted to leave Aston Villa, he has now dropped a big quit hint.

“I’m an ambitious person who wants to win titles and leagues and cups and stuff,” Young told Birmingham Mail.

“Hopefully, fingers crossed, I can do that. I think they say players start to peak at 26 or 27.

“I’ll soon be 26, so fingers crossed I can start peaking myself. I’ve been enjoying how things have been going for me.”

While Young is also tracked by Liverpool, it is believed that he has already set his sights on a move to Old Trafford, and he can only hope Sir Alex Ferguson stays on the bench for few more years to help Young realize his amazing potential.

Giovinco: I want to stay at Parma

Juventus midfielder on loan to Parma, Sebastian Giovinco has made it clear that he doesn’t plan to return to Olimpico at the end of the season.

Giovinco largely impressed at Ennio Tardini after arriving to Parma on loan at the start of the season and he is now unwilling to return to Juventus.

Parma have the option to buy half of his contract at the end of the season and the player really hopes that Ducali exercise that option.

“I prefer to stay here at Parma. I have already informed club president Ghirardi and general director Leonardi about my desire to stay put,” Giovinco told Tuttosport.

Widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in Italian football, the 24-year-old was never given a real chance at Juventus and it is little wonder he is no longer loyal to the Bianconeri.

With Parma and Juventus set to meet at the weekend at Ennio Tardini, the 24-year-old will have a great chance to get revenge on the Bianconeri for the unfair treatment during his time at Olimpico.

“It will be a great game. We are determined to end the season on a high, especially at home.

“I don’t care about Juventus’ ambitions now. I just want us to enter the pitch with the right attitude. Juventus are a great squad, but we know what to expect.”
