Juventus in talks for Barca’s Montoya

Italian champions Juventus have opened talks for Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya, according to Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri plan to sign a long-term replacement for Stephan Lichtsteiner, whose deal is due to expire in the summer, while recent injuries to Romulo and Kwadwo Asamoah have created additional problems.

As a result, Juventus plan to wrap up the deal for Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya, who is also capable of operating on the left.

With the footballer desperate to leave the Catalans in search of first team football, the Bianconeri are confident they can find an agreement with his current employers.

Juventus have already established the initial contact and everything suggests they will be able to close the deal despite interest from elsewhere.

Having finally secured their progress into the Champions League knockout stages, the Bianconeri can shift their focus to Serie A, where they are 2/5 favourites to win the fourth consecutive title.
