Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned that Juventus are stepping up their efforts to sign Schalke starlet Julian Draxler.
The Bianconeri have rekindled their interest in the talented footballer and they are already negotiating a deal with the Miners.
Juventus do not feel that the €25 million asking price is going to be a problem, but they are wary of the player’s current fitness levels.
Namely, with the 21-year-old only recently returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the Bianconeri would prefer to sign the player on loan with an option to buy.
They are well aware that this kind of arrangement is unlikely to appeal to Schalke, which is why Juventus are prepared to pay top dollar for a season-long loan.
Julian Draxler spent almost six months on the sidelines during last season, but he did go on to make seven Bundesliga appearances in the second part of the campaign.
