Premier League champions Chelsea are getting closer to signing AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko which suggests that the Serbian international Nemanja Matic will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge during summer.
Former Benfica star has been linked with a Manchester United move but Antonio Conte is reportedly unwilling to sell his player to direct league rivals and it looks like Matic could be set for a move to Italy.
Chelsea man has been eyed by Inter Milan over the past couple of weeks, but Serie A champions Juventus are believed to have joined the chase.
Given the fact that Serbian international Nemanja Matic also holds a Slovak citizenship, it would exempt him from occupying a non-EU spot in the team both of which have been taken by Douglas Costa and Rodrigo Bentancour.
The 28-year-old midfielder has made 35 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season, providing seven assists and scoring one goal in the process.
