Italian champions Juventus have joined the race to sign Real Madrid defender Pepe, according to Tuttosport.
It is no secret that the Bianconeri aim to recruit a high-quality central defender in the summer transfer window, with PSG captain Thiago Silva reportedly their primary target.
Juventus hope to sign the Brazilian on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign, but will turn their attention to Pepe in case Thiago Silva extends his contract at Parc des Princes.
The Portugal stopper is in a similar situation seeing that his current deal also expires in June, but he will reportedly be offered a new contract at Santiago Bernabeu.
Pepe has spent last nine years at Real Madrid, making a total of 221 La Liga appearances for los Blancos, and it remains to be seen whether he will be interested in a fresh challenge at the end of the season.
