Italian champions Juventus are hot on the trail of Sporting CP striker Islam Slimani, according to Algerian newspaper Le Buteur.
Following yet another impressive campaign in Portugal’s top flight, the Algeria hotshot has become one of the hottest commodities in world football.
He has so far been linked with Leicester City, Tottenham, West Ham, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, among other clubs, but it appears Juventus have joined the race as well.
Seeing as how Alvaro Morata hinted he could leave this summer, the Bianconeri are thinking about replacing the Spaniard with Slimani.
A €30 million asking price has so far proved to be a stumbling block to any deal as Sporting CP chiefs are adamant their star player can leave only if someone match his release clause.
Slimani has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe’s top leagues this season, having netted 27 goals in 33 league outings for the Lions.
