Today hasn’t been a good day for Arsenal fans, with Manchester City looking set to put in a firm bid for Alexis Sanchez, and now the news that Italian super club Juventus are reportedly keen on Mesut Ozil, according to the Mirror.
The Gunners’ Premier League rivals Manchester United have long been the favourites to acquire the German’s services, especially given the player’s previous working relationship with Jose Mourinho. Juventus however can offer Ozil a new challenge, without losing the good history of domestic and European success.
The Old Lady currently sits second in the Serie A table, just one point behind rivals Napoli after 20 games. With the likes of Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain up top, Ozil would have some great players to create chances for, and the midfielder would likely continue his reputation for providing assists.
Manchester United meanwhile find themselves eight points above Ozil’s current club Arsenal at present, and a move to join Mourinho would mean a four-hour relocation, rather than a long-distance move to Italy.
