Italian champions Juventus are hot on the trail of Fluminense starlet Gerson Santos da Silva, Tuttosport has suggested.
The 18-year-old has already nailed down a regular starting berth with the Brazilian giants, scoring 4 goals in 20 league appearances.
Judging by his latest performances, it won’t be long before Gerson joins a top European club, and it would appear as though Barcelona and Juventus are vying for his signature.
The Catalans are believed to have secured a first option on his services for a fee of €3 million, but they are banned from registering new signings before 1st January.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus aim to take advantage of the situation and lure the talented midfielder to Turin this summer.
Fluminense values the youngster at €18 million at the moment, and the Bianconeri may decide to match their asking price if they sell Paul Pogba.
But, they will also need to persuade Gerson to snub Barcelona and move to Italian Serie A instead.
