Italian champions Juventus are showing interest in Lazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti, Tuttosport can reveal.
The Bianconeri have identified the Italy international as a natural successor to Gianluigi Buffon and they hope to lure him to Turin in the summer.
With Federico Marchetti unable to agree on a new deal with Lazio, Juventus aim to recruit him on a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
The Bianconeri signed Brazilian keeper Neto from Fiorentina on a free last summer, but it appears they have not been convinced by the player’s performances in training and matches, and are considering selling the 26-year-old at the end of the season.
Juventus officials plan to make Federico Marchetti the new number one and then sign him a back-up also on a free transfer, but it remains to be seen whether the Italian giants will succeed in their quest.
Federico Marchetti, 32, has spent last four and a half years at Stadio Olimpico, making a total of 124 Serie A appearances.
