Italian daily Tuttosport understands that Juventus have reignited their interest in Southampton star Gaston Ramirez. And according to the latest transfer odds at William Hill, UK’s no. 1 bookmaker, they are favourite to do so.
The Bianconeri have been following the player for two years now but they missed out on him last summer as he joined Southampton in a €15 million move.
With Ramirez having impressed in his first ever Premier League season, Juventus are planning a new assault on the Uruguayan.
Antonio Conte believes the 22-year-old is an excellent option for the left side of attack as he plans to alternate between 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 formations next season.
The player would probably be interested in a return to Serie A, but reaching an agreement with his current employers will be no easy task.
While impressing in the creative department, Ramirez has also been notching goals on regular basis of late, scoring 13 goals in 59 league appearances over the last two years.
Benfica slap €15m price tag on Cardozo
Benfica chiefs have informed interested clubs that star striker Oscar Cardozo will cost at least €15 million in the summer transfer window.
Having spent last seven years at Estadio da Luz, the club chiefs will not stand in the player’s way should he decide to leave in the summer, but they are not prepared to sell him on the cheap.
According to Portuguese daily Record, the Eagles have slapped a €15 million price tag on the 30-year-old striker.
There have been quite a few top European clubs casting admiring glances his way, but it remains to be seen whether they will be prepared to meet Benfica’s asking price.
Oscar Cardozo has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in world football over the last few years, scoring 105 goals in 160 league appearances for the Eagles.
He has been in fine form this term, netting 32 times in 45 competitive matches for the Estadio da Luz outfit.
Gervinho set for Lille return
Arsenal winger Gervinho could be returning to Lille in the summer transfer window, French newspaper Le 10 Sport has revealed.
Les Dogues are slowly coming to terms with losing Dimitri Payet, while they could also stay without Salomon Kalou.
Boss Rudi Garcia is, therefore, desperate to sign attacking reinforcements and he seems ready to offer his former player Gervinho an escape route from Arsenal.
Lille might not be able to splash the cash on the Ivorian, but they are interested in signing the player on a season-long loan.
Given that Gervinho is currently earning around €3.6 million per season, Arsenal would have to cover part of his wages if the deal is to go through.
The 25-year-old has had a difficult start to his career at the Emirates, starting just 31 Premier League games over the last two seasons and he could be interested in a return to Grand Stade Lille Metropole.
