A report from the Daily Mail is suggesting that Juventus have moved into pole position to land highly-rated Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente in the January transfer window.
It seems to be almost certain now that Llorente will be on the way out of the La Liga outfit in the New Year, especially after another training ground bust-up with coach Marcelo Bielsa.
This was not the first time that the pair have clashed, and the Spanish international is clearly wanting out of the team from the Basque Country.
Serie A Champions Juventus and English Premier League outfit Arsenal are the two that look most likely to land his signature.
However, with the side from Turin readying a huge £145,000-per-week deal, they look to have moved into the driving seat.
After missing out on Robin Van Persie in the summer window, Juventus are desperate to add a striker with real presence and a knack for scoring goals, and Llorente certainly fits that bill.
There is still time for this story to change though and the Gunners may even be prepared to offer the 27-year-old a similar kind of contract.
With Llorente’s current deal due to run out next summer, he is likely to leave for around £5 million, which many will see as a bargain.
