Various outlets both in England and Italy claim Juventus are keeping their eyes open for three Manchester United players who are set to become free agents soon: David de Gea, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic. The Serie A champions pulled off a similar move this past transfer window when they signed Aaron Ramsey after his contract with Arsenal had expired.
In July De Gea was said to be set to sign a six-year contract with United to “reward him for his loyalty to the club”, but it never materialised. Bailly, a bit of a liability considering his injuries, particularly the knee injuries he has sustained, signed a four-year contract in 2016 which is due to expire next summer. After the arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester for £80 million, he is likely to be deemed surplus to requirements even when fully fit. Matic, who has failed to secure his spot under the new management, signed a three-deal contract with an option for another year in 2017.
