Udinese wing-back Mauricio Isla has described his imminent move to Juventus as a dream come true.
The Chile international is expected to sign for Juventus next week, having already undergone a medical in Turin, and admits that he cannot wait for the transfer to be officially confirmed.
“This is a dream come true: I am going to the strongest team in Italy,” Isla told TVN.
“It is important for me as a player. But it is also vital for my family. I have been working for years to get to this point.
“In Udine I became a professional. But I have always said that sooner or later I would go to a bigger club like Juve. There I can challenge for trophies. I want to play in and win something important, like the Champions League.”
Isla is also looking forward to linking up with compatriot Arturo Vidal, who joined Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen last summer and played a key role in the club’s Serie A success.
“Two Chileans at Juve; it’s historic,” the 24-year-old said.
“A great opportunity. I am very happy, he already knows everything (about the club).”
Isla, who first came to prominence during the Under-20 World Cup in Canada five years ago, is also expected to be joined at the club by his Udinese team-mate Kwadwo Asamoah.
