Italian champions Juventus remain hot on the trail of Barcelona icon Andres Iniesta, according to Tuttosport.
The Bianconeri hope they can persuade the Spaniard to join on a free transfer at the end of the season, but that is easier said than done.
The good news is that Andres Iniesta has entered the final year of his contract at Camp Nou, and he is no closer to extending his deal.
Speaking after the 3-0 victory over Juventus, the Spaniard confirmed there are no news on the contract extension.
“The renewal? There is no news,” Iniesta told reporters after the game.
Andres Iniesta, 33, has spent his entire career up to date at Camp Nou, but he is seriously thinking about leaving the club at the end of the current campaign.
Juventus officials clearly believe he’s got few more good years ahead of him and they are closely monitoring the situation.
